Interestingly, Perspex is a brand name for the acrylic sheet. Acrylic is a commonly used name for Polymethyl Methacrylate or PMMA. A compound product which is produced by numerous manufacturers around the world.

So, when you see other brands names like Plexiglass, Acryglas, Acrycast, Policril, Quinn, and Plazit. You can rest assured this is Polymethyl methacrylate or acrylic as we will refer to it from now on.

What is acrylic mainly used for?

Acrylic is a transparent plastic that has gained widespread use because its ability replaces the glass in everyday products. It is also used for signs, sales displays, roof windows, lenses, and screens.
